How do I repackage the NZXT PC for return?

Updated over a year ago

This article will cover how you can safely return the system as a part of an exchange or cancellation request. If this return is for a cancellation request, your subscription will be closed out once the carrier picks up the package.

Failure to properly package the system may result in damage to the system or internal components, which will result in damage fees. Fragile is not responsible for damage or loss caused due to improper packaging.

1. Prepare the system

Remove any additional components that you may have added to the system, such as additional storage (i.e. HDD, SSD, M.2, etc.), fans, memory (i.e. RAM), or case accessories (display figures, capture cards, etc.).

Optionally, delete/backup your data and restore the PC to factory settings by following this article. When the PC is returned, we wipe all data anyway as part of our standard refurbishment process. This ensures that none of your personal files, accounts, or information remain on the device.

2. Add internal packaging

Not adding correct packaging is the primary cause of damage in transit. Make sure to follow these instructions closely and reach out if you do not have internal packaging and need to purchase a return kit.

  • Option 1: Foam inserts

The original packaging will have included foam inserts that wrap around the GPU. See how these can be added in the video and diagram below:

  • Option 2: Instapak

If you purchased a packing material kit that came with Instapak® Quick RT packets or sourced your own Instapak® Quick RT packets, you will need to activate the packets in order to properly fill the void space within the case and protect the components during transit.

The system should look like this if done correctly:

3. Pack the PC

With the system prepared and the internal packaging in place you'll next need to make sure the PC is properly packed. For this step, you will need the following materials:

  • A One (1) large, double corrugated ("double-wall") cardboard box

  • B Two (2) foam case blocks

  • The prepared PC

  • A shipping label

If the PC is being returned for a cancellation, please also include the accessory box and any accessories included within the PC as well. This is what a correctly packaged system looks like:

With the system securely in the box, close the flaps and tape the box shut using your heavy-duty packing tape.

Once packing is complete you can now apply the return shipping label to the outside of the box. You can find the return label and your options for shipping in the email sent with subject: "Return your items".
